| Objectifs du cours | There will be four out-of-class papers. - Paper 1: writing a profile of an important high school or college event that you have witnessed or experienced (3 / 5 pages) - Paper 2: arguing a position (3 / 5 pages) - Paper 3: presenting two opposing sides of an issue (5 / 6 pages) - Paper 4: writing an intellectual argument based on emotional experience (5 / 7 pages) (research paper) |

| Contenu du cours | Upon completion of this course, the students will have: - written several types of academic essays - written papers which are well organized and well developed - developed existing strategies to appropriately address different audiences and to achieve various purposes |
